Who is Colorado Cures?
Colorado Cures is a brand that sells CBD products online. CBD Plus USA is a store where you can purchase in person. They have these stores all over Colorado and you can use their locator to find one nearest to you. If you're outside Colorado then it's obviously better to order online.
Colorado Cures has products such as oils, edibles, topicals, vapes, and CBD for pets. Their oils are the most sought after and this is what I'll be getting into now.
Full-Spectrum Vs Broad Spectrum Vs Isolate
Before I get into what their products are, I'm going to first explain these terms. Full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolates.
These refer to how cannabis was extracted. The strain of cannabis used is called Hemp which is higher in CBD compared to traditional marijuana strains. The way that cannabis is extracted will heavily influence the effects you feel from it. Let me explain what these are.
A full-spectrum extract means that it contains all the beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes. If you want the optimal effects of hemp then a full-spectrum extract is the way to go. You get what is called an Entourage Effect.
Here's what I mean. Have a look at the effects of each cannabinoid below.
Terpenes also play a role in the smell, taste, and extra effects you feel. Here's a list of all the most abundant terpenes found in cannabis.
A broad-spectrum is the same as a full-spectrum extract, except THC is removed completely. Some people prefer not to have any THC in their oils for various reasons.
CBD products are sold as Industrial Hemp. Meaning it contains less than 0.3% THC. This little THC that gets removed, takes away from the Entourage Effect.
CBD isolate sounds like exactly what it is. All cannabinoids and terpenes get removed except for CBD. You are basically only getting the effects of CBD.
The thing is as you increase your dosage with pure CBD the effects diminish instead of increasing. That's because CBD needs other cannabinoids to keep increasing its effects. That's why it's always better to go with full-spectrum or broad-spectrum.
Colorado Cures CBD Oil
Colorado Cures has 3 different types of CBD oil. Full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate. I've just explained the differences between these products so hopefully, I've made sense.
Their full-spectrum tincture comes in 2 potencies and different flavors:
- 500mg: raspberry lemonade, all-natural
- 2500mg: all-natural, strawberry lemonade, tropical
Their broad-spectrum tincture comes in 3 potencies:
- 500mg: strawberry lemonade, tropical, all-natural
- 1000mg: strawberry lemonade, tropical
- 2500mg: all-natural, strawberry lemonade, tropical
Their isolate tinctures also come in 3 potencies:
How Does It Taste?
All the oils are composed of 4 ingredients. MCT coconut oil, cannabis extract, naturally derived flavoring, and stevia.
Their oils don't taste that bad. Most CBD oils have that bitter taste but they actually don't taste that bad. I think this is mostly due to the flavorings they use and stevia.
I don't like that they've used stevia because it can cause digestive problems for some people.
The Cost Of CBD Per MG
Understanding the cost per mg of CBD is important. You wouldn't pay for gas for more than it's worth right? The same thing applies to CBD.
Here is how I grade it:
- Best value: $0.087 or less
- Good deal: $0.088 to $0.149
- Fair deal: $0.150 to $0.211
- Pricey: more than $0.211
Here is how Colorado Cures scored:
- Full-spectrum tincture 500mg: $0.08
- Full-spectrum tincture 2500mg: $0.04
- Broad-spectrum tincture 500mg: $0.08
- Broad-spectrum tincture 1000mg: $0.07
- Broad-spectrum tincture 2500mg: $0.04
- Isolate tinctures 500mg: $0.06
- Isolate tinctures 1000mg: $0.04
- Isolate tinctures 2500mg: $0.03
According to our score, they offer the best value for money.
Lab-Results: Is Colorado Cures CBD Oil Legit?
The good thing about Colorado Cures is that they do provide lab test but they are outdated. They also only test samples of their products. They don't give a lab report for every product that is bought via a batch number or barcode of some sort.
Another thing I've noticed is that there is no information about testing for contaminants. This is equally as important as testing cannabinoid content. Testing for contaminants verifies whether or not it's safe to take or not.
Verdict: Is Colorado Cures CBD Oil Any Good?
Colorado Cures seems like a solid brand but their lab test let me down. This is a common theme that I keep bumping into. A lot of companies look legit but their lab-test are either outdated or missing key information.
Hopefully, they can change this soon. But for now, I cannot recommend them.
